Why Feed Turmeric PLUS?

Turmeric PLUS is a blend of Micronised Linseed Meal, Turmeric Powder, Limestone Flour & Cracked Black Pepper. Turmeric powder is soluble in oil, so we have blended it with our oily linseed meal to ensure ideal levels of absorption without having to mix it into a paste. The linseed meal itself provides extra nutritional benefits as its packed full of omega 3 & 6, the Limestone flour also helps to boost calcium levels. The cracked black pepper contains Piperine which enhances the bioavailability of the Curcumin in the Turmeric, making it easier for your horse to absorb and benefits of this amazing natural compound.

Our Turmeric powder contains on average, 5% Curcumin. This powdered supplement has become very popular due to its incredible benefits which include: Support for itchy skin conditions, joint health & support as well as helping to aid the digestive tract.

Please note that the '20kg Bulk' option is made to order and may take 3–4 days to dispatch.

Feeding Guide

As this blend contains the oily Micronised Linseed meal you can feed this supplement straight from the bag, knowing that your horse is able to absorb the amazing benefits of Turmeric Powder.

Small Horse (Under 450kg) - 30g per day, this can be split between feeds or fed at once
Large Horse (450kg+) - 50g per day, this can be split between feeds or fed at once

The above amounts can be halved when feeding for maintenance

As with any Turmeric based supplement, Turmeric PLUS should be introduced to the horses diet slowly, built up gradually over the course of a week or 2.

Composition

On our base of Micronised Linseed Meal & Limestone Flour we add Turmeric Powder & Cracked Black Pepper.

Nothing else is added or taken away.

Feeding as an Infusion

Many herbs, including Turmeric PLUS, can be fed as an infusion, this helps the active ingredients become readily available faster and are more easily absorbed by your horse.

1. Put the daily required amount of herbs in a bucket (quantities stated above)
2. Add 1/2 pint (300ml) of boiling water to the herbs, mix and then allow to cool
3. When cooled, the whole infusion (including the herbs) can be used to dampen down your horses feed.

If you don't have access to a kettle you can just soak your herbs overnight and this will also help your horse absorb the natural vitamins, minerals & active ingredients.

Black Pepper

Contains a compound called Piperine which is used to help enhance the bioavailabilty of curcumin found in Turmeric.

Limestone Flour

Plays a vital role in the growth of bones, teeth & hooves. It is an essential part of the body and helps in muscle contractions and the nervous system.

Linseed Meal

An excellent way of adding natural omega-3 fatty acids to the daily diet and is a great source of non-heating energy. Due to its high oil content, micronised linseed also helps support the skin, promoting a smooth, glossy coat.

Turmeric

Turmeric has great antioxidant properties and helps to support healthy joints, respiratory function, gastro intestinal function.

How long will it take to work?

This varies according to each individual horse. Generally though you will need to give 2-3 weeks for dried herbs, however many of our customers have reported a beneficial effect after just a few days.
